“Be still and know that I am God.” (D&C 101:16 in the LDS Scriptures) Recently I have been learning how to meditate. It is a experience unlike any that I have ever experienced before in my life. It zones out every sense of rush and urgency in my life and brings me even more so to the realization of the now. Friends, there is no beginning and there is no end. The experience and the journey of today and right this moment is the greatest enjoyment. The continual learning process and knowledge that can flood our minds is the drive and motivation. As we learn things and apply the truths, then the governing laws say we must feel happiness.
As I was conversing with my friend Denise last night, (Denise I hope you feel special that your name was mentioned on my blog) I was sharing with her my new found knowledge of the meditation process and she said something that triggered my mind in what my instructor Lynn was talking to me about. It is the consciousness of silence. Denise talked about the early saints and the days of regular manual labor. They did not have ipods in their ears as they were plowing their fields, nor a radio as they traveled down the roads in their buggies, nor did they have a cell phone they were constantly texting on or ringing at all times of the day for everyone to get a hold of them. And yes these are amazing tools that make our lives much easier, yet they have conditioned us out of what God is sharing with us to truly get to know him. “Be still and know that I am God”. Moses taught the people in the old testament “…Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord…” (Exodus 14:13). In Psalms 46:10 we learn “Be still and know that I am God.” Stillness is silence. Seek this stillness and enter into silence. Then will your understanding become clear.
Also a great poem I got from my friend Denise on Stillness
Let us then labour for an inward stillness-
An inward stillness and an inward healing;
That perfect silence, where the lips and heart
Are still, and we no longer entertain
Our own imperfect thoughts and vain opinions,
But God alone speaks in us, and we wait
In singleness of heart, that we may know
His will, and in the silence of our spirits
That we may do His will, and do that only.

Negative thought a sin
The problem with sin is not the sin, but when we choose to sin our heart becomes sinful. A sin is the start of a negative affirmation we condition to become a part of us. When we choose to replace a negative thought with a positive thought we are applying the atoning sacrifice of Christ. Often times a thought of rejection, fear of not being enough, or any fear develops in our subconscious mind… I believe anchored to what we call our heart many times. We must apply the atonement by using positive affirmations. This is continually repenting, it is recognizing our sins, a desire to change them, then applying faith in belief which leads to faith in action. If we believe it, it will happen. We choose to believe. I never really understood this. Because sometimes it is easier for us to choose to believe some things then it is to believe other things. Just the same as we think how could anyone ever have such a problem with pornography, or alcohol, or this, or that, or whatever it is? I ask how is that many of us can have such a problem with negativity? It is an awakening of our subconscious mind and a softening our heart. It is becoming consciously aware of life and choice. These are the beginning steps to discipline. There is only one choice, love. We often hear this as two choices. But it is automatic. If we do not choose love, by default fear enters our lives and captures our heart. So tomorrow morning start your day of by saying I choose love. Start conditioning yourself with the positive and truly apply the atonement on a deeper level. When we condition ourselves with the little things, the bigger worries will almost seem to disappear.

Whats holds us captive?
Today in my studies I was pondering as I was reading in The Peace Giver about captivity. What creates us to be held captive with in ourselves. The answer is our limiting beliefs. Fear is what causes us to restrict ourselves from progression. Therefore we are held captive of our choices. Last post I riffed on agency being the choice to choose God. And by choosing God I mean choosing love and breaking through our limiting beliefs.
We become restricted and captive because we lose a desire to choose God and actually choose to run from God. Take a look at Adam and Eve for example. They were able to justify their choices of partaking of the forbidden fruit because their actions were linked to their emotions. It becomes easier for us to justify our sin because it is anchored to our emotions. Look further in to what happened. They became captive in to Satan's hands as he actually got them to hide from God when He came to talk to Adam and Eve. Satan said "run, hide yourselves, for you are naked." (not exact wording cause im riffing in my head right now.) God said in verse 9 of chapter 3 in Genesis "Where art thou?" and in verse 10 Adam admits that he hid himself from the Lord because he was scared. He followed FEAR and turned from the Lord. God even asked why he had partaken of the fruit and Adam and blamed it on Eve. Eve then blamed it on Satan as she said "the serpent beguiled me". Only when they took responsibility for their actions were they set free. John 8:32 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free". (The truth also might piss you off a little bit) Fear is a false belief being passed off for truth. We create fear through our sins. I'm talking down to the very basic sin that does not outwardly seem to effect the lives of other people, but more deeply your own life which then in turn effects others lives of those around you. Love and Fear, God and Satan, Good and Bad, Positive and Negative.
I very specifically use the word "and" because it is not 2 sides. It is one continuum. Either you are getting more positive and moving towards God or you are getting more negative and moving towards Satan. And you get more negative and further from God by conditioning your negative habits over time.
If we wish to have more freedom we must awaken our subconscious mind and with all of our false beliefs that we have believed to be true for so long, we must change those beliefs and condition new positive beliefs. Doing this and creating a more positive life sets you free and increases our individual happiness level. It then allows us to find our true "ness" and use our "ness" to serve others. When we are not serving others we are sinning, creating fear, and actually taking happiness out of our lives.

Agency and the law of choice
I am reading many books as I have grown accustom to do in my transformation and discovery of my true “ness”. Recently I am reading the Peace Giver by James L. Ferrel. I had an epiphany in which I desire to share. Agency is not the ability to choose. It is the ability to choose God. When we don’t choose God we have chosen fear and we are bound by the chains of hell. In other words we do not have complete control over ourselves and we have given up control to fear and in a religious view Satan. Whether you believe in Satan and not, the power that is represented in his name is very real. When we come to the realization that we are bound by something such as: drugs, alcohol, pornography, negative attitude, rudeness, profanity, or any type of addiction that does not uplift us to be a happier more fulfilled purpose then we may escape the chains of hell. There are steps that lead us to freedom. But before that we must recognize and admit we are bound and unhappy. It is easy for us to justify our own actions because they are anchored to emotion. When we crucify another for their actions, our emotions typically are not anchored to their actions. This is why Christ taught us not to cast a stone. Although I do recommend avoiding people that bring us down.

Finding your ness
Over the last 24 years I have sought the one thing we all search for... that is happiness. In this long journey that I have learned there is no final destination... the happiness is in the journey. And furthermore there is no begining. We are spiritual beings in a human experience. The struggle for us is to find how enjoy this journey. The secret is start with self-interest.
My personal life mission is this: to be an example of a life worth living.
A year ago I was truly desiring to discover my "soul purpose" or my indiviual-ness of exisitence. I asked my self this question, what is a cause worth dieing for? As I was talking with my Financial expert, Garrett Gunderson, asked me this question: "What is a cause worth living for?" That was the question that trigger my search to discover my "soul purpose" or my true "indiviual-ness".
I will always leave disclaimers that if I am quoting someones way of wording these eternal truths and concepts I do not wish to take credit for your stuff. I only wish to share with others to find their true "ness".
